Announcement of ACFA Linear Collider Symposium

The ACFA Linear Collider Symposium will be held on February 12 (Wed),
2003, at the Main Convention Hall of EPOCAL Tsukuba, which is located in
downtown Tsukuba. The symposium is jointly organized by ACFA (Asian
Committee for Future Accelerators), Japanese High Energy Physics
Committee, and KEK. Professor Won Namkung, Chairperson of the Asian
Linear Collider Steering Committee, chairs the symposium.

1. Objectives of the Symposium
This Symposium is organized to inform the interested audience of the
latest status of efforts towards realization of the JLC project, which
aims to build a high-energy electron-positron linear collider as the
forefront research facility in High Energy Physics of the 21st century.
Invitations are extended to a wide range of interested parties in Japan
and Asian countries, as well as the research communities world-wide. The
Symposium presents a series of in-depth reports on the research
opportunities at and technical aspects of the JLC project, based on the
JLC Roadmap Report. Analyses of possible strategies envisaged for
pursuing this project will be also presented. Participants are invited
to participate in active discussions and are kindly asked to make valued
inputs for the future of this project.
