Minutes of 87th FFIR/BDSIM and 9th ILC-Asia WG4 meeting on 12/8/2004

The 9th meeting was held on Dec.08 10:00 am at rm.425 bldg no.3.

(1) Vibration Tolerance in Local Correction (ATF2) (Kuroda)
http://lcdev.kek.jp/ILC-AsiaWG/WG4notes/meeting/2004/1208/FFmeeting2004_12_8.pdf
     Condition: sigma_x<=4micron / sigma_y<=30nm @ fixed IP
     (a) Drift space length
         * > 100micron
	(b) Bending Magnet
         * deltaB/B < 4x10^-6 including ripple
     (c) Quad
         * (To be done)
     Discussion:
           - Proposed L* = 1m (US) , 2m (Japan)
             The 1m design matches ILC chromaticity.
             The 2m design has more room for diagnosis system.
           - Original optics (not Local correction) might have more
relaxed tolerance.
             This optics is to be studied.

(2) Presentation prepared for review committee on 16th December.

     (a) Schedule
         * Summary of the discussion about ATF2 area with Crab Cavity members. (Yokoya)
            - Crab Cavity will move to STF site in future.
            - Current development of Crab Cavity will finish in the beginning of 2006.
            - We can decide ATF2 site (N1 or N2) in 2006.
            - Floor construction will be done in 2006 summer.
         * If all components are well prepared before 2006 summer, it is possible to
           finish ATF2 construction during the shut-down periods in 2006-07.
            - We have to finish designing and costs estimation for both N1 and N2 before September 2005.
            - Development and tests of each component are to be finished before June 2006.
     Discussions:
            - Beam orbit jitter just after the ATF extraction will be large
              in the beginning of ATF2 operation.
              Shintake-monitor will be installed at IP to study beam size.
            - When the beam jitter becomes small enough, Shintake-monitor will be replaced by nano-BPM's.
