Vertex Detector subgroup
Our Goal: Not clear
- Past:
Our previous goal was achieved by publishing
the study report "Particle Physics Experiments at JLC"
(KEK Report 2001-11, hep-ph/0109166). There, we have presented
the "JLC detector model" based on a somewhat conservative
design and compatible only with the warm technology accelerator.
Since then, the next goal of the ACFA LC Physics and
Detector Working Group has not
been defined yet.
- Now:
Detector R&D efforts are still being continued by each
detector R&D collaborations to achieve better performances.
Recently, the R&D efforts are getting more and more
inter-regional. There are world-wide collaborations
of detector component R&D
such as SiLC, CALICE, TPC, and so on.
Nevertheless, regional activities based on each
detector model are still valid.
- Future:
The detector model we have presented (JLC detector model) is
already obsolete. We should build up a New ACFA Advanced Detector
Assembly Model. New subdetector options (TPC, digital Calorimeter, etc.,)
should come up.
Anyway, we need discussion how to proceed the Physics and Detector
study in the framework of ACFA.
